As vaudeville fades and her ambitions clash with reality, her shy daughter Louise unexpectedly finds fame as the legendary burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee. This classic musical, suggested by Gypsy Rose Lee’s autobiography, explores the complicated bonds between mothers, daughters, and the pursuit of stardom.
