About the Class: Quarantine got you feeling sedentary? Miss being in rehearsal for a musical? Itching to get back on your feet? Well push some furniture out of the way and grab your dancin' shoes! In Ryan's Dance for Musical Theatre workshops, we will focus on learning choreography from hit musicals to help you prepare for your next big dance call. Classes will be focused on picking up and memorizing choreography quickly and efficiently, implementing character and storytelling ideas, and dancing full out. Class will be structured with a brief stretch, warm up, cardio activity, core strengthening, a few technical exercises to improve balance and pirouettes, and different choreography each session. 5...6...7...8!

Classes will be for all experience levels and will be on Monday, June 1 at 7-7:50PM (CDT), and Monday, June 8 at 7-7:50PM (CDT).

About Ryan Cappleman

Ryan Cappleman is a performer, choreographer, musician, and teaching artist from the Milwaukee area. Favorite roles include Woof in Hair, Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, Pooh-Bah in The Hot Mikado, Dancer in Carmina Burana (Skylight Music Theatre), the Piano Player/Young Billy in Billy Bishop Goes to War, Performer in Tom Foolery (Third Avenue Playhouse), the Balladeer/Lee Harvey Oswald in Assassins (Windfall Theatre). His choreography has earned him 3 Footlights Awards on professional stages, and numerous Jerry Awards, celebrating excellence in high school level musical theatre. Ryan has been a professional pianist for most of his life, working as a music director, accompanist, recording artist, and arranger. As a teaching artist, he has worked with performers all around the country including at Skylight, Danceworks, First Stage, the Wisconsin Dance Council, the Minnesota Conservatory of the Arts, the Virginia State Thespian Conference, and many high schools.
